Incident Support Specialist (ISS)
Under the general direction of the Fire Chief, as an Incident Support Specialist, you respond to emergency incidents within the region to provide support to firefighters and other emergency responders. Operating the Incident Support (IS) Unit, you assist with onsite equipment and logistics support; provide compressed air to refill firefighter’s self-contained breathing apparatus, and aid in rest and rehabilitation for emergency responders. The Incident Support Unit is a critical tool in providing emergency services to Yellowhead County and its partners.
The remuneration for this volunteer position is $15.00 per hour. Work is conducted in a combination of office environment, fire station environment and field/outdoor environment, depending on the task being performed. Applicants must be 18 years of age, no previous experience and no minimum time commitment required.
