Do you need a little extra help around the house?
Home Support provides light housekeeping services to residents of Yellowhead County as far west as Marlboro (Range Road 210). The County also has an agreement with Parkland County to provide Home Support as far east as Fallis. Home Support is available to anyone who has a health or mobility problem that prevents them from completing housekeeping tasks, regardless of their age.
Home Support services are available for a maximum of 8 hours per month and are limited to indoor housekeeping tasks. Home Support workers are screened, trained and required to take an oath of confidentiality before they meet clients.
Yellowhead County FCSS subsidizes the program by paying the travel costs for workers so that clients are only charged for the time the worker actually spends in their home. FCSS also “tops up” the wages of the workers who work for lower income clients. The amount the client pays per hour is based on their annual income as it appears on line 150 of their notice of assessment.
The hourly fees for Home Support are as follows;
Annual household income under $21,800 - $8.00/hour
Annual household income $21,801 to $26,200 - $15.00/hour
Annual household income $26,201 to $42,500 - $20.00/hour
Annual Household income over $42,500 - $25.00/hour
If a client is a senior who qualifies for the Alberta Seniors Financial Assistance pension they can also qualify for assistance from the province (up to $100 per month) to help pay for the cost of Home Support.
