Design Guidelines & Construction Standards
As a result of considerable development and growth, Council approved a new Design Guidelines and Construction Specifications Policy in March 2007. The new policy was put in place to ensure that all infrastructure meets minimum construction standards. The new information guide sets standards governing design, preparation and submission of plans and specifications for municipal infrastructure improvements in the County.
The manual is intended to provide an information guide to set standards governing design, preparation and submission of plans and specifications for construction of municipal improvements in Yellowhead County. It is intended for use by developers, engineering consultants, utility companies and County departments. These standards are provided to set out the minimum allowable levels to which the requisite improvements are to be built. In instances where the standards do not cover a particular situation or occurrence, good engineering judgment shall be used. All development shall comply with the requirements of Yellowhead County, all applicable Land Use Bylaws and Provincial and Federal legislation.
The Design Standards PDF is 117 pages (2.1MB).
A hard copy can also be picked up at the County's office in Edson.
