Building Permits
For most construction projects, a building permit is also required. However, not all developments require the issuance of a development permit or a building permit. Smaller sheds, fences on certain lots and some decks may be exempt from the requirement for a permit. Please contact the Yellowhead County Planning Department for details.
Yellowhead County is not an accredited agency and does not provide building permits. To obtain an accredited building permit, contact an agency authorized by the Alberta Safety Codes Authority to issue building permits and provide compliance monitoring in non-accredited municipalities.
It is your responsibility to ensure that construction complies with the Alberta Building Code.
