Enter our Contest and Win a Board Games Pack!

The County wants to see you and your family's emergency escape plan. And we're ready to give away some board games, if that's what it takes!

Print out the Escape Plan grid here. Sit down with your family and think about at least 2 ways of getting out of your home in case of fire.

Draw your home on the grid, including 2 ways out. Scan or snap a photo of your drawing and email it to communications@yellowheadcounty.ab.ca or bring it to the County office.

Make sure you include your name and preferred contact info! Our contest ends on Monday, October 23. Winners will be announced shortly after, and will receive a package of three board games.

Pump Track Guide

Pump Track Guide

You've probably noticed a handful of "Pump Tracks" cropping up in the County. These are momentum-based multi-use tracks (for skateboards, scooters, and bicycles), meaning they don't require external force to keep going. Rather, riders rely on the momentum provided by the track's design.

The County's Pump Tracks were built by Velosolutions--a Swiss-based industry leader in bike track engineering and construction. Velosolution's proven design aims to shed water to keep the asphalt tracks solid and ready for use after consecutive winters.

Kids and adults alike love these newly built Pump Tracks, which are some of the first in the province. Our pump tracks are a refreshing new activity, and we encourage you to try them out in the Evansburg, Wildwood, Niton Junction, Peers, and Marlboro communities. For more info, check out our Pump Track guide here.
