Yellowhead County Peace Officers certified as child seat technicians gave a presentation and participated in a question and answer session at the Friendship Center in Hinton that focused on the proper use of child seats. Last spring several Yellowhead County Peace Officers and Yellowhead Regional 911 Centre dispatchers took part in a child seat technician course and received certification for assisting with the proper installation and set-up of this important safety feature for infants and toddlers.

Important Child Seat Tips to Consider:
- When installed and used properly, car seats can significantly reduce the harm to children in motor vehicle collisions.
- Car seats must be appropriate for the child’s height and weight.
- Rear-facing child seats must not be placed in a seating position with an activated air bag.
